Manara AI closes Series A — the case for Arabic-first generative AI

10 Feb 2026 · TriplA Team

Manara AI, the Riyadh-based generative AI startup backed by TriplA, has closed a SAR 7.5M Series A round. The company builds generative AI tools specifically designed for Arabic content creation — a market that has been dramatically underserved by mainstream AI models.

The round was co-led by TriplA Ventures and a major Gulf-based technology fund, with participation from strategic angels across the media and enterprise software industries.

While models like GPT-4 and Claude perform well in English, Arabic — a language spoken by over 400 million people — remains a second-class citizen in the generative AI world. Arabic morphology is vastly more complex than English, and most models trained primarily on English data produce stilted, unnatural Arabic output.

"We've been fine-tuning foundation models specifically on high-quality Arabic text from day one," said the Manara AI team. "The difference in output quality is immediately obvious to any native Arabic speaker. That's our moat."

Manara AI's platform is already deployed by several regional media companies, advertising agencies, and enterprise clients. The Series A funding will accelerate hiring of Arabic NLP researchers and expand the enterprise customer base across the GCC.

The company is also in discussions with government entities interested in using Arabic AI for public communications, regulatory documents, and citizen services.
